M I N N E A P O L I S U S A

Our winter session is one of the more popular and challenging workshops. Operated in Ely, Minnesota out of noted polar explorer Paul Schurke's Wintergreen Dogsled Lodge, participants mush dog teams in the wilderness areas in and around the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. We spend each day on the trails and frozen lakes running our teams of Canadian Eskimo dogs, perfectly suited for the cold weather and pulling photographers with gear. Each evening is spent in a warm lodge with meals prepared by the fabulous French Chef Bernard Herrmann. Educational slide programs are shown each evening. Our photographic approach to these workshops is simple. We cover our adventure trip as if it were a magazine assignment. Participants are given instruction on general points of coverage to document as well as specific creative assignments like the use of flash, motion, night imagery, portrait, landscape, ect., to be included with their visual story. A slide critique on the final evening (a really fun night) allows open discussion on each participants photographic story. For more information please email us at the below address or contact:
